$65m refresh for PGA National

The fifteenth on the Champions course at PGA National
PGA National in Florida, which hosted the 1983 Ryder Cup, and is the regular host of the PGA Tour’s Honda Classic, has started the final phase of a US$65 million upgrade programme.
The works, which are scheduled to be completed in the autumn, include alterations to the resort’s hotel, clubhouse and spa, as well as to the five golf courses. Course changes are focused on new turf and irrigation systems, plus expansions to tee and green complexes and rebuilt bunkers.
“This next round of ongoing renovations will allow PGA National to continue to stay ahead of the curve in keeping our property in first-class condition,” said resort managing director Joel Paige. “With all major construction completed, ongoing enhancements will have zero impact on current resort operations.”
