ASGCA book now on Kindle

The third edition of the American Society of Golf Course Architects’ book An Environmental Approach to Golf Course Development has been released for the Amazon Kindle.

Focused on golf course development and permitting, the book also includes 18 case studies that provide real-life examples of recent projects which address key environmental issues such as water supply, wildlife habitat, wetlands protection and mitigation and brownfield reclamation.

“The unique role that golf courses continue to play, in terms of providing environmental, social and economic value to their local community or region, is a message of utmost importance to our association and to the community at large,” said ASGCA president Rick Phelps. “Now, we are able to share our stewardship message with an even broader audience by offering our popular publication through Amazon’s Kindle store.”

David Wogahn, president of e-book agency Sellbox.com, added: “We are identifying new publishing opportunities for businesses and associations to leverage the rapid consumer adoption of e-reader devices like Kindle and iPad. Forward-thinking organisations know that in order to reach a 21st century audience they need to produce their publications in eReader-friendly formats and offer them through eBook retailing stores.”

The Amazon Kindle edition is available for immediate purchase and can be read on Kindle, iPad, iPhone, PC, Mac, Android and Blackberry devices. A version for the Barnes & Noble Nook will be available later in October.
