Buyer sought for Craythorne course

British golf property specialist GVA Humberts Leisure is looking for a buyer for the Craythorne course in Burton-upon-Trent.

A guide price of £1.15 million has been set for the freehold property, which is being offered to the market as the current owner is retiring and relocating abroad.

The Craythorne is an undulating eighteen hole course, measuring 5,642 yards. The facility includes a 13 bay floodlit drivng  range; practice facilities and a greenkeeping complex, plus a substantial pub-house with lounge bar, restaurant and four function rooms. The club opened in 1972.

GVA Humberts say the Craythorne’s business mix is approximately 67 per cent food and beverage revenue, with 33 per cent coming from membership, green fee and range income.

Ben Allen who is leading the sale for GVA Humberts, said: “The Craythorne is a very well presented business, with an exceptional clubhouse that is furnished, fitted and equipped to a high standard. The business mix widens the likely range of purchasers to include those from the food and beverage and licensed trades as well as lifestyle buyers and those from the golf sector. Whilst the Craythorne is a very well run business, the property offers obvious potential for growth, particularly on the golf side.”
