First phase done at Kauai Lagoons

Marriott Golf has opened the renovated Kiele Moana nine at Kauai Lagoons Golf Club in Kauai, Hawaii. Marriott says the course now features the longest continuous stretch of ocean holes on any course in Hawaii.

Jack Nicklaus’s firm was responsible for the design work. The renovated Kiele Moana nine (formerly the Kiele course’s back nine) now has three new holes, TifEagle bermuda greens and a run of ocean holes stretching more than half a mile.

“The Kiele golf experience is legendary for locals and visitors to Hawaii, and we are thrilled to introduce an inspired layout that will make the experience even more memorable,” said Bill Nault, vice president of Marriott Golf.

This is the first of three phases of renovations at the club, coming on the heels of a US$50 million upgrade of the hotel areas of the Kauai Marriott Resort.
