June opening for Bulgarian course

 

The spectacular Thracian Cliffs course in Bulgaria will open officially next month.

Signature designer Gary Player will be on hand for the grand opening festivities at the course, in Cape Kaliakra on the Black Sea. The course is the second that Player’s firm has designed on behalf of Bulgarian businessman Krassimir Guergov, and is part of Guergov’s global campaign to showcase his country.

British firm Braemar Golf Developments provided construction management services during the build, and director Jonathan Pendry has described it as among the most spectacular sites he has seen.

Gary Player echoes this view. “I’ve been playing golf for 56 years and have never seen a site like this anywhere in the world. I’ve never played on a golf course where you can see the ocean on every single hole. It is truly incredible,” he said.
