New owner sought for Blackstone

Blacknest Golf and Country Club, located in the South Downs National Park in southern England, is up for sale.

Specialist agency GVA Humberts Leisure is marketing the club, which was opened in 1994 and includes an 5,974 yard eighteen hole golf course, six hole academy course, driving range and practice putting green, plus a 600 sq m clubhouse including conference facilities, a leisure suite and retail space. Planning consent has recently been obtained to convert the first floor of the clubhouse to ten en-suite letting bedrooms, with replacement leisure facilities on the ground floor.

Humberts is inviting offers in the region of £1.25 million for the freehold property. Agency spokesman Ben Allen said: “Blacknest offers all the key components for a highly successful golf business and provides facilities for a range of supporting income streams, from conferencing to leisure and now hotel accommodation. Our clients have invested significantly in the golf course over the last 12 months, which has been well received by the members and has helped attract 70 new members over this period.”
