New renovations for Harbottle

Seattle-based architect John John Harbottle, ASGCA has broken ground on two significant renovation projects on both sides of the Canadian border.

At the Kelowna Golf and Country Club in British Columbia, Canada, Harbottle is leading a project that aims to revive the character and craft a consistent feel for the AV Macan designed-course.

The first phase of the project is concentrated on bunker renovation as well as remodeling the second, fourth, seventh, eighth and fourteenth holes. Harbottle says the most dramatic changes are at the drivable par four seventh, where a three metre deep hollow has been shaped right of the green.  Errant shots will kick away and face an uphill, blind pitch to a green that generally slopes away from the shot.

Harbottle also has construction work underway at White Horse Golf Club in Kingston, Washington, where fairway grading, tee, bunker and drainage work are nearly complete.  The work at White Horse has been undertaken to increase playability and allow players to use the terrain for shaping their shots.
