Norman's Allegria opens for play

Egyptian property developer SODIC has opened the Allegria Golf Club outside Cairo. Designed by Greg Norman’s practice, Allegria is part of a large real estate development bearing the same name. Troon Golf has been in charge of managing the build, and will also operate the course.

Troon’s Mark Chapleski, who runs the company’s Middle Eastern operation, said: “The ownership group at SODIC is developing a golf community that will appeal to both domestic and international markets. The importance placed on quality of condition and service will see Allegria establish the benchmark for golf developments in Egypt and highlight the opportunities that exist for growth in this region."

“We are extremely happy to open this much awaited course. At SODIC we take pride in providing not only our residents, but our guests from around the world, a leisure experience that is of the highest standard. Allegria is truly set to be a new living and leisure experience for its residents and guests alike,” said SODIC chief executive Maher Maksoud. SODIC is Egypt’s fastest growing real estate development company and is currently working on a number of large projects in Egypt’s expanding real estate sectors.
