November opening for CostaBaja

CostaBaja's marina is already open; the golf course will follow shortly

The new CostaBaja resort in La Paz, Mexico, has opened, and the resort’s golf course, designed by Gary Player’s firm will follow on 7 November.

Located on the Sea of Cortez, the resort includes a 115 bedroom hotel operated by Maryland-based firm Grand Heritage, a 250 slip marina and the La Paz region’s first spa facility. Fourteen of the golf course’s holes will offer views over the ocean.

“Grand Heritage is pleased to make CostaBaja Resort & Spa our first property in Mexico,” said John Cullen, the firm’s president. “We are excited to bring a new level of service and hospitality to the destination of La Paz and we look forward to welcoming guests to the Gateway to the Sea of Cortez.”

The La Paz area is a growing destination within the Baja California market: the region’s first golf course, the Hills-Forrest designed Paraiso del Mar opened last year, and the Tom Doak-designed Bay of Dreams is currently in soft opening.
