Aglarov Golf and Country Club on the outskirts of Moscow has opened. Part of the Aglarov Estate real estate development, the course has been designed by American architect Cal Olson.

Owner Aras Aglarov cut the ribbon to open the club at the ceremony , after which a field of 96 players competed on the 7,100 yard course, which is being managed by Troon Golf.

“Troon’s expertise in golf management combined with the luxurious leisure and residential facilities will allow us to become the premier golfing facility in Russia and beyond,” said developer Agalarov, president of the Crocus Group. “Our commitment to excellence ensures that our residents experience the highest possible standards across the whole of the estate.”

The 850 acre estate includes 250 residences as well as the golf course and its 6,000 square metre clubhouse, leisure and social facilities including indoor and outdoor tennis courts, and other sporting facilities, plus a 41 room boutique hotel with a Sabun Nga Spa.

“The facilities here rival the greatest in the world and will go a long way in garnering attention for the emerging golf market in Eastern Europe,” said Bruce Glasco, Troon’s managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
