Oman’s new Almouj to open

The new golf course at the Wave development in Muscat, the capital of Oman, will open its first nine holes on 1 December.

The course, designed by Greg Norman Golf Course Design, has been named Almouj Golf. “Oman will now emerge as one the favourite destinations for international golfers,” CEO Michael Lenarduzzi told the Oman Observer. “The opening of it will lay the foundation for the Sultanate to become a leading golf destination.”

The second nine holes of the 7,300 course are expected to open in April 2012. A floodlit par three course is also part of the development.
