Panks's Conestoga to open shortly

The new Conestoga Golf Club course located 80 miles north of Las Vegas, opens for public play this month.

The Troon Golf managed course, part of the Del Webb retirement community of Sun City Mesquite in Mesquite, Nevada will officially open on January 31. “The opening of the Conestoga has been a highly anticipated event,” said Troon Golf’s Claire Varney, the course’s general manager.

Varney said architect Gary Parks has interwoven the course with the character and contours of Sun City Mesquite's landforms. The golf holes undulate through canyons, rugged rock outcroppings and water elements.

“We introduced the golf course to residents of Sun City Mesquite in November to rave reviews and are excited to open the facility to the general public and showcase the spectacular community of Sun City Mesquite while providing unparalleled service and an exceptional golf experience,” said Scott Wright, president of the Las Vegas Division of developer Pulte Homes.

In addition to Conestoga, Sun City Mesquite features amenities designed for active adults age 55 and better. The 30,000 sq ft Pioneer Centre has indoor amenities including a fitness centre and indoor lap pool. In addition, the community features an 18-hole putting course, various sports courts, and miles of scenic walking trails.
