Piper Glen to re-open

Piper Glen will re-open its doors to members today (18 November) after a four-month project to install new Dominator bentgrass greens.

The North Carolina facility, which closed in July 2011, chose the grass because of its heat tolerance, high density and superior disease resistance.

"We are looking forward to re-opening the course and are excited to welcome back our Members and guests who have been patient and supportive through during our Greens Project," said Eddie Carpenter, general manager of TPC Piper Glen. "I am very pleased with our progress and would like to give a special thank you to golf course superintendent Dean Sparks and his entire staff for the incredible improvements that have been made."

During the closure the club took the opportunity to re-contour the slope of the signature fourteenth hole.

The club also announced the introduction of new child-friendly social activities and a new fitness centre.
