Plans unveiled for Angus resort

More plans have been unveiled for the new golf resort proposed for Dundee in Scotland.

The Angus course, located near Broughty Ferry, just outside Dundee, is being designed by architect Graeme Webster of Team Niblick, under the signature of Darren Clarke. Spread over a 200 acre site, the course will play to a length of between 6,300-7,000 yards depending on the tees chosen. Resort developer Mike Forbes said the £55m project also includes the region’s first five star hotel

“When you first glimpse the landscape where The Angus will take shape, you can't help but feel you're somewhere Mother Nature intended for golf,” Clarke said. “It's a stunning location which, as it matures, will become an even more memorable experience.”

Forbes said he and his team are currently in talks with operators – presumably on both the golf course and hotel side – to help drive the development forward. He added that the new facility would create more than 200 full-time jobs following its completion, with some 300 posts being generated during construction, which he forecast would to boost the local economy by £19.2m.
