September opening for Oitavos hotel

A new five star hotel will open in September alongside the Oitavos Dunes golf course in Portugal. Located twenty minutes west of Lisbon, the oceanside course has hosted the Portuguese Open on four occasions since its 2001 debut.

To be known as The Oitavos, the hotel is set among the sand dunes and pine trees of the Sintra Cascais National Park, and will be the first luxury hotel developed on the Quinta da Marinha Original estate, owned by the Champalimaud family, developers of the Oitavos Dunes course.

Oitavos Dunes was designed by architect Drew Rogers, then working for the American firm of Arthur Hills/Steve Forrest and Associates. The hotel is located close to the course and is the newest addition to the Quinta da Marinha Original estate, which also includes an equestrian centre, a Health and Racket Club as well as the golf course.
