Staples wins Los Alamos renovation

Golf architect Andy Staples and his firm, the Phoenix-based Golf Resource Group, have been chosen to develop a long range master improvement plan for Los Alamos Golf Course in Los Alamos, New Mexico.

Staples says the plan will address and support the community's Environmental Sustainability Initiative, which is aimed at fostering resource conservation, land stewardship and overall environmental responsibility.

The course was originally built in 1947 by the US Atomic Energy Commission. Planning work is starting straight away, with construction expected to begin in late 2012.
