Burns Golf Design is a full-service golf course design firm, providing services to new and existing golf courses throughout the U.S. and internationally. Our work includes master planning residential developments, including the street and lot layout; preparation of complete golf course construction documents; long range master planning, and remodeling design for existing courses; and golf course construction observation.

Steve Burns has a quarter of a century of experience in golf course design, including seven years with Tom Fazio’s firm. Steve’s award-winning courses, built with reasonable budgets, made him the first two-time golf course architect recipient of The Boardroom magazine's Excellence in Achievement Award.

Our remodeling work includes one of the four most improved courses in North America, as rated by the 2000-2001 Golf Digest Places to Play. Our new courses include the Golf Digest eighth Best New Affordable Public Course of 1999, and a private course that would have made the top ten in 1996, had they allowed walking. Two of our public courses have earned 4.5 out of five stars in Places to Play, ranking them among the top five per cent of all public courses. Only about a dozen courses, such as Pebble Beach and Pinehurst #2, have earned five stars.
