DeVries Designs studies the world’s great courses and writings by the ‘old masters’ of golf course architecture and applies those ideas that have stood the test of time to create fascinating golf. We strive to maximise a site’s potential by responding to the inherent character of a parcel to bring out the best and most unique features of the land. We seek playability and exciting golf for all players. By doing so, we create everlasting courses that intrigue golfers for a lifetime—that is the true measure of a great course.

Mike DeVries is a craftsman who is personally involved with all aspects of a golf course’s development, including the feature shaping of the greens and bunkers. Being on-site throughout construction allows DeVries to study the land, react to newly revealed opportunities, and improve upon the original design concepts. This evolutionary process results in golf courses of enduring quality.

Golfweek magazine ranks DeVries’ original designs at the Kingsley Club and Greywalls among its Top 100 Modern courses in the United States. A noted expert on Alister MacKenzie’s works, Mike also works with clubs on small and large restoration/renovation projects. He is currently working on a new 27-hole project in China.
