European Golf Design is the joint venture design company of the PGA European Tour and IMG. Established in 1992, European Golf Design has won design commissions throughout Europe and beyond to Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean and Asia.
The company was established as an avenue through which the Tour could develop venues throughout Europe that would host Tour events in those areas; would allow IMG Golf clients, along with every other professional golfer, to have an in-house design team at their disposal to assist in the design of new golf developments they are involved with, as well as providing a design company of the highest calibre that was available to other clients for the design of their projects.
Some notable achievements of the company include:
* Designers of the Best New Course in Europe - 1997, 1999 and 2004
* Designers of the Best New Course in UK & Ireland - 2004 and 2006
* Two courses included in the Top 100 Courses in the World
* Four courses included in the Top 100 Courses in Europe
* Four courses included in the Top 25 Courses of the past 50 years in Great Britain & Ireland
* Designers of the TwentyTen Course at Celtic Manor, Wales, the host venue of the 2010 Ryder Cup.
