Greenmaker was founded in 2006 and is the exclusive worldwide supplier of a product with the same name. Greenmaker was created in order to contribute to environment awareness and to save on maintenance costs for golf courses.

When its founders looked for ways to save on golf course maintenance and to do so in an environmentally responsible manner, they came in contact with Greenmaker. The company felt that believing in the product was not sufficient, so to convince future users of the capabilities and applications of Greenmaker, comprehensive research was undertaken by the University of Applied Agriculture. The laboratory study demonstrated very good results, which were confirmed by a field study. The product was also analysed by certified laboratories such as TNO and STRI; the latter study took place on 20 January 2009.

This positive feedback meant that Greenmaker could market its product, allowing others to profit from saving on maintenance costs and to contribute to the environment.
Greenmaker is applied to the top layer of existing or newly laid golf greens and tees, fairways as well as football fields for both professional and amateur players.
