Mador & Partners Chartered Architects is a design-based practice specialising in leisure projects. The practice has carried out substantial golf, hotel, holiday resort and sports projects since being established by Charles Mador in 1991. This is our core work and from this we have a broad expertise in countryside planning issues as well as the design of these building types. Our main concern is to create the right sense of place for the users of the building.

Increasingly we are involved with ‘green’ issues of energy conservation and carbon neutral construction methods. The opportunities for using these measures for building in countryside locations are substantial. The practice is now accredited and registered with the UK 'Green Register' of architectural practices with expertise in this area.

The practice is experienced in all aspects of golf clubhouse design and construction from overall design responsibility for large complex clubhouses such as the Wisley Golf Club and the Celtic Manor Resort to the refurbishment of local authority owned facilities such as at Whitewebbs Golf Course in Enfield. We have been responsible for holiday resorts ranging in size from the 600 unit Lower Mill Estate in the Cotswolds to five units in the Snowdonia National Park in north Wales.

The practice handles all aspects of planning, design, interior fitting out and construction contract administration on projects varying in value from more than £10 million to under £100,000. The typical project value handled by the practice is from £250,000-£3 million.
