Mark Wiltshire has always shown a keen interest in golf course design and has been approached on numerous occasions to assist in sourcing a golf course architect.
Although I believed our company had sufficient experience in the design, playability and routing of the golf course, I wanted to complement this with an expert qualified in golf course architecture. This led to us starting our own in house golf design company in association with Mark Müller, a graduate member of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects.
Our first joint venture with Müller was the Fynbos Golf and Country Estate in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, and we are currently engaged in an upgrade of the Nchanga Golf Club in Zambia, voted the 14th best course outside the USA in 1979 by Golf Digest.
Our aim is to build user friendly golf courses, enjoyable for all, and at the same time create a balance in design with tee and bunker placements to ensure a stern championship layout.
Mark Müller has been involved in golf since 1981. He began his career as a superintendent and attended the University of Massachusetts, graduating from the Winter Turf School in 1982. From there, Mark progressed into golf course design and construction and was employed by Jack Nicklaus Golf Services as a construction co-ordinator on various projects from 1984–1989 before ultimately starting his own design company.
