Jeff Mingay began his career in golf course architecture more than a decade ago working with fellow Canadian golf architect Rod Whitman.

Working with Whitman at places like Blackhawk Golf Club, Sagebrush Golf and Sporting Club and Cabot Links, Mingay learned that ‘it's the guys with dirt under their nails who will never build the worst courses and have a better chance to build the best’.

Indeed, the world's great courses were not created in two-dimensions on paper. They were created in the field using a fluid construction process, which permits initial ideas to evolve in three-dimensions as a golf course is taking shape. In turn, Mingay insists on spending an extraordinary amount of time on-site during realisation of his golf course designs. This method is the only way to capitalise on previously unforeseen opportunities, which always present themselves and to consistently achieve the very best, most economic result each time out.
