Building a golf course embraces many operations. From coordination with golf course architects, land developers and golf club officials to working with varied terrain characteristics, planning and executing phases of grading, drainage, irrigation and turfing.
As part of SGC Group, Senior Golf Construction has experienced teams, mostly from a greenkeeping background, who understand the challenges facing clubs and course managers.
SGC is a leading laser grading specialist using one of the most advanced systems in the UK. Its technology lets it achieve near-perfect surfaces for tees of any size, eliminating guesswork. Laser levelling is the sensible way to level tees, allowing 100 per cent use of the tee surface. It saves thousands of pounds and gets a better tee, faster.
SGC has also imported installers from the US that manage turf rolls up to 40m, and widths of up to 1.2m, for fewer joints and quick installation that saves time and money.
SGC can identify which land drainage system would be most suitable for a course. The recent investment in a Shelton Supertrencher +760 and a Koro Top Drain give us an industry leading package of drainage installation machinery. SGC can design and build a primary drainage system of pipe networks and subsequent systems including gravel and sand banding, verti-draining, sand slitting and decompaction of soils.
