Simon Gidman International Golf Course Architects was set up in 1991 to provide both specialised golf course architectural and planning services. It has since developed a number of prestigious private and public courses throughout the UK and Europe and is currently involved in major urban design and housing projects in the Middle East and central Africa.

The company is also involved with renovation projects on existing golf courses – some of these have been phased over five or six years (Harewood Downs and Hösel), others have been completely re-modelled in a single winter (Northenden). The company is also working on a number of sites where the use of imported inert landfill material has been used either to create new golf courses (The Centurion, Stonebridge) or re-model existing golf courses (Hart Common).

With a combined background in landscape architecture and professional golf, the company has both wide knowledge and a desire to conserve and enhance sites to improve their ecological value, as well as having a thorough understanding of the game itself.
