SolarDrive is a Danish company that designs and engineers highly efficient solar products for electric vehicles and off-grid, solar powered products – primarily golf and utility cars.

SolarDrive’s roof panels, which can be retro-fitted to any make of electric golf car, capture and convert daylight into sufficient energy to power golf carts year-round, even on cloudy days. Furthermore, as the carts charge as they are driven, they are more efficient and can out-perform regular electric golf cars.

SolarDrive equipped vehicles are capable of transferring between 180-360 watts of energy to a vehicle’s battery system. This results in carbon free charging and driving. In addition to the environmental benefits, financial benefits include: lower electricity costs, lower battery costs due to extended battery life through and the potential for increased revenue opportunities from the improved rental capacity of the vehicles.

The global trend toward promoting growth within the field of renewable energy, solar power in particular, is that government sponsored tax credits and/or rebates are becoming more common in individual countries/regions. For example the basic federal tax credit for the US is 30 per cent of the purchase price with additional allowances available in some states. SolarDrive has distributors across all major regions.
