Stuart Hallett offers qualified architectural expertise for new developments and existing classic courses.
With a solid background of greenkeeping on prominent French courses, Stuart Hallett followed in the steps of the very first greenkeepers, embarking on a seemingly natural evolution into golf architecture. In 2005, he successfully completed his professional diploma of Golf Course Architecture in Edinburgh. His working philosophy blends the fundamental design principles found on classic courses and the professional standards of modern day architecture. His hands-on approach ensures the intelligent use of existing landforms, prerequisite to the appearance of naturalness and unique design.
Variety and functionality are considered essential with a clear intent to move away from standardised courses of an artificial nature. Distinct features are built while taking into account maintenance programs, allowing for quality playing surfaces and a viable investment for clients.
Stuart is currently working on new 9 and 18 hole projects, and several urban compact courses aimed at promoting golf in France. The most recent project, Louvigny Golf Compact, is a reference for the French Golf Federation to create 100 new developments before the 2018 Ryder Cup. He is also currently working on classics such as Biarritz, Chiberta, Saint-Cloud, Granville and Pau.
