Suny Zokol Golf Design is a course design company founded on the principles of classic and nature-based minimalist golf architecture. Zokol, a 25 year veteran and two-time winner on the PGA Tour, and Armen Suny, a former golf course superintendent and general manager who grew up working at several of America's top 100 greatest courses of America, have a deep and abiding passion for creating great golf.

SZGD believes in creating aesthetically stunning, extraordinarily playable, agronomic planned golf courses that encourage strategic options including the ground game. Through creative routing, a hands on approach and being on site every week, they are able to create these courses in a cost-effective fashion. They also bear in mind the effect the design, shaping and grassing have on their client's operational costs in the future.

Sagebrush Golf and Sporting Club in British Columbia has been honoured by Golf Digest as the best new Canadian course for 2009. Sagebrush was designed by Rod Whitman, Zokol and Suny.

In preparing the keynote address to the 2010 Golf Industry Show, USGA agronomist Brian Whitlark consulted Ron Whitten, Golf Digest's architecture editor, for examples of courses employing leading-edge agronomy. Whitten named five golf facilities, including Sagebrush. “In fact, Sagebrush was at the top of my list,” said Whitten. “This is where the game is evolving, and Sagebrush is one of the courses proving what is good for the game.”
