Chartered plant biologist David Rhodes runs a specialist agronomic consultancy from his office in Dorset in the UK. David specialises in cool season grassland management and development, especially golf and sports turf. He has 25 years experience of the golf industry and started his career as a working golf Greenkeeper. Amongst other qualifications he has a master’s degree in plant sciences from the University of Reading and is a member of the Golf Consultants Association and the Register of Professional Agronomists.

He advises many golf clients on contemporary and sustainable golf course management, using his practical and scientific knowledge of managing golf landscapes in an ecologically sensitive manner. Clients vary from the Professional Golfers Association to private and public golf courses and academic establishments. David specialises in course auditing, course development and ongoing course management, and regularly liaises with golf course managers, club managers and club authorities to put together management and strategic plans that develop the facility and ensure a cost-effective use of resources over time.
