Issue 15, January 2009
Our cover story takes a look at the development of golf courses in Sweden. Although the game has grown dramatically in the country over the past two decades, it’s only in the last few years that top quality golf courses have been developed to match. We talk to Swedish golf influencers and visit new courses such as Bro Hof Slott, Hills GC and Sand GC, plus the one real classic in the country, Falsterbo.
American lawyer Mike Kraker surveys the blind par three. Are such holes relics of 19th century golf that have no place in the modern game? Or are they are pleasant change of pace that should be preserved?
Spanish writer Alfonso Erhardt profiles his countryman Javier Arana, perhaps continental Europe’s first great native golf architect.
And in our On Site section, we visit Amedoeira in Portugal, Lykia Links in Turkey and the stunning new Lübker resort in Denmark.
