Ron Fream and his colleagues at Golfplan have flown innumerable thousands of miles, introducing golf to new countries the world over. As Fream himself winds down his illustrious career, we speak to him and his partners David Dale and Kevin Ramsey about their role in the spread of the game.

This edition also includes an extensive feature on golf and the environment, asking what does golf want to stand for? Contributions from Jonathan Smith of Golf Environment Organisation and others including Howard Swan and Jeremy Pern consider what the game needs to do to become more sustainable.
