The economic challenges of recent years have put an even greater emphasis on making the best use of real estate, including golf courses, according to the American Society of Golf Course Architects.

In response to this need, ASGCA is offering its free brochure The Golf Course Remodelling Process – Questions & Answers, available to anyone interested in the planning process.

ASGCA says the brochure is a complete guide to asking the proper questions for a successful remodelling project, from the basic – why remodel? – to the complex – how can a project be funded? A Remodelling Checklist and resources to use during the remodelling process are also included.

“Golf course remodelling brings both art and science together,” said ASGCA president Rick Phelps. “Each course is a unique, living entity. A remodelling project starts out on the right foot when the correct questions are being asked and answered. This brochure provides the basis for success and sets the groundwork for a finished product that will serve the community for years to come.”

In addition to the brochure, ASGCA offers the internationally recognised Remodelling University, an education program providing superintendents, managers, owners and green committees with detailed information on golf course remodelling. Since its creation, more than 2,000 people have taken part in the Remodelling University programme.
