The reconstruction of the Ocean Course at the Sea Pines resort on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, is nearing completion.

The resort has confirmed that the course will reopen for play in October, and will now run under the moniker ‘Atlantic Dunes’.

Love Golf Design has led the reconstruction project, with Davis Love III and lead architect Scot Sherman reworking the course to accommodate for modern shot values and create more scenic corridors.

Natural sand dunes are being restored alongside the course, while tens of thousands of indigenous plants have also been put in place.

Davis Love III commented: “Sea Pines is one of my all-time favorite places to play and visit so we’re excited the redesign will be in line with the great golf offered by Harbour Town and Heron Point.”
