Construction work has begun on the new Bluejack National course, which has been designed by Tiger Woods’ design practice.

Beacon Land Development, the company leading the project, has hired Medalist Golf to carry out the construction work. Medalist Golf has previously worked at the Reynolds Plantation in Georgia, Southern Hills Country Club in Oklahoma and Secession Golf Club in South Carolina.

Clearing and grading is underway on the course’s front nine, as well as on the site of what will become the club’s practice facilities and a short-golf area, named The Playgrounds.

“We have a tremendous team comprised of some of the most skilled professionals in the golf industry,” said Casey Paulson, partner in Beacon Land Development, developers of Bluejack National. “With its water, trees and natural movement, this is one of the most perfect pieces of property for golf in all of Texas. After all these months of careful planning, watching it begin to come together is truly exciting.”

GCA first reported on the project back in May, which, once complete, will form part of a private community in Montgomery, Texas.

The course’s practice facilities and The Playgrounds are scheduled to open to members by the spring of 2015, with the full Bluejack National course potentially opening for play later that year.
