Natadola Bay golf course, the largest project of its kind in the Pacific state of Fiji, has opened.

The course is run by Australian firm Avid Sports Management. Fifteen of the eighteen holes have views of the Pacific Ocean and the neighbouring Natadola Beach, which has been voted one of the top beaches in the world by Forbes Traveller. The course is part of the adjoining five star Intercontinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa.

Avid managing director James Cooper said the opening of Natadola Bay follows the company’s recent success in providing strategic golf course planning, development and management services to golf courses in the Asia Pacific region.

“Our innovative hands on approach, matched with our thorough knowledge and understanding of today’s golfing landscape, has enabled us to create Natadola Bay,” said Cooper. The course was originally to be billed as a signature design by Fijian golfing legend Vijay Singh, but the player removed his name from the project last year.
