Work on a new 18-hole course at The Esplanade of Lakewood Ranch, in Sarasota, Florida is close to completion.

The Esplanade of Lakewood Ranch course is set to open later this autumn, with fifteen holes having been shaped and rough graded currently.

The architect behind the project is Chris Wilczynski, lead designer and owner of C.W. Golf Architecture. Wilczynski has also recently designed The Esplanade Golf and Country Club in Naples, Florida, which is currently under construction.

The Esplanade of Lakewood Ranch course will play between 4,636 and 6,716 yards, and will see golfers tackle three short and tactical par four’s, none of which are longer than 330 yards.

The course will feature large greens, averaging 7,000 sq ft, and the fairways of all the par fours and par fives have 350 ft corridors.

The course also features a ridge that has enabled Wilczynski to vary elevation across the eighteen holes.
