The Gator course at the Pelican’s Nest Golf Club in Bonita Springs, Florida, has opened for limited play following a renovation project led by golf course architect Jan Bel Jan.

Work carried out on the course, which was originally designed by Tom Fazio’s firm, has included the building of new greens and bunkers, as well as the regrassing of the fairways.

Other elements of the project included modifications to a number of holes, including the ninth, 13th, 14th, 17th and 18th, and the addition of new scoring tees.

Bel Jan worked closely with the club’s board of governors, general manager David Gillespie, director of grounds and greens Jason Zimmerman, and director of Golf Chris Sheehan, on the project.

The work follows on from a similar project on the club’s other 18-hole course, the Hurricane, which was completed last year.
