Glashedy Links, situated in Northern Ireland, has begun upgrading its bunkering under the guidance of original course architect Pat Ruddy.

The Ballyliffin Golf Club staff will carry out the work under the supervision of head greenkeeper, Andy Robertson.

“We are confident this will strengthen the links and greatly enhance its playability for the average golfer, as well as its strategic challenge for better golfers,” said John Farren, general manager at the club. “Though we are in difficult economic times, Ballyliffin is committed to improving its links and facilities for our members and visitors.”

The work on the back nine is expected to be complete by March 2010, with the entire project finished by March 2011.
