United Arab Emirates property developer Rakheen has teamed up with design firm Harradine Golf on a eighteen hole golf project in Mukhrovany, 25km from the Georgian capital of Tbilisi.

Rakheen is based in the emirate of Ras al Khaimah, where Harradine designed the Al Hamra course. According to Karina Buettner of Rakeen, the success of Al Hamra project in Ras Al Khaimah persuaded the company to choose Harradine for the Mukhrovany project.

Dr Khater Massaad, Rakheen’s executive chairman, said: “This partnership is an extremely promising step for this project. We are excited to work with such remarkable specialists. Our affiliate Rakeen Georgia will start construction in April, and we expect the golf course to be operational by Spring 2011.”

He continued: “Mukhrovany Golf Village will be a unique destination. The village will start with the golf course, with a five star hotel, villas and apartments to follow in future. We trust this beautiful project will enrich Mukhrovany’s and Tbilisi’s communities and instigate further investment into Georgia for a sustainable development of this wonderful country.”
