Huxley Golf has completed an all-weather short game practice area at the Club La Santa, located on Lanzarote’s north-west coast.

A popular sports resort on the Spanish Island, work began at Club La Santa in September 2013 to overhaul the existing golf training centre.

Huxley Golf’s team installed an 18-hole putting green that measures approximately 600 sq yd, a 300 sq yd short game pitching green incorporating two flag positions, a large bunker and tee area, a further 150 sq yd practice putting green and three triple-bay practice nets.

“Education is central to what we do here at Club La Santa,” said Kaj Justesen, construction manager at the resort. “We do not offer a full golf course – there are already plenty to choose from – but what we now have is quite unsurpassed for anyone who is keen to improve their game alongside like-minded individuals. Our resident and visiting golf professionals were asked for their recommendations and it is they who demanded that we only work with Huxley Golf, whose commitment to the highest standards matches our own.”

Director of Huxley Golf Andalucia Lars Aarup, who was appointed to the role in August of last year, worked with the team at Club La Santa to help design and install the new facilities.

“Not only will guests benefit, but the club will too since the materials we use are top-of-the-range and will stand the test of time, as well as coping with a demanding climate,” said Aarup. “The minimal maintenance required will be a real time and cost saver for the grounds staff too.”
