Huxley Golf has introduced three state-of-the-art teaching bays to help upgrade the practice facilities at St Andrews Links.

The new bays form part of the club’s Golf Academy and have been designed to provide comprehensive facilities which will enable players to practice driving, iron play, pitching and putting.

Each bay includes a variety of playing surfaces, which will support coaching across a range of areas within the game.

The three indoor bays feature two hitting zones. These have been created with 1.5m x 3m Huxley Golf Premier Mat 400, and a 3.6m x 0.6m putting green that has been produced using Huxley Golf Nylon Indoor Green Turf. The hitting area surrounds are made of Huxley Golf Premier Leisure Turf 35HD.

“For both clients and coaching staff, the all-encompassing practice bays are tremendously beneficial, enabling us to teach all aspects of the game in one place,” said Steve North, director of Instruction at St Andrews Links. “This gives us the flexibility to respond to individual client needs in all lessons. As well as being more convenient and rewarding for our clients, completing a whole session in one place means that we don’t lose momentum or waste valuable time during lessons, helping to ensure that we can keep up with demand.”

“We continually work to evolve and enhance our facilities with the aim of ensuring that we lead where others follow,” said Paul Kirkcaldy, Golf Academy and Junior Golf manager at St Andrews Links. “I am delighted with the newly upgraded facilities. We know that we can trust Huxley Golf to meet our brief perfectly, deliver first class workmanship and supply the product quality that we are happy to put our name to. I will take great pleasure in seeing our teaching bays used widely by golfers from around the globe.”

“We have a long history of working at St Andrews,” said Paul Huxley, director of Huxley Golf. “It’s always a pleasure to receive a new brief from the management team there as we know that it will be an exciting challenge and one which will allow us to demonstrate our talents in product design and installation, that will ultimately be a showcase to the golfing industry.”
