Jackson Kahn Design has been selected to remodel the 18-hole course at Malibu Golf Club.

An educational retreat and conference centre, named the Malibu Institute, is being developed at the club, which lies north of the town of Malibu about 45 minutes drive from central Los Angeles. The decision to remodel of the course has been taken as part of the development.

The project is reliant on a Coastal Development Permit being granted, but the Malibu Institute told GCA it was confident of securing this by September this year.

Located in California’s Santa Monica Mountain range, the 18-hole Malibu Golf Club course was designed by William Francis Bell in 1976.

Tim Jackson and David Kahn co-founded Jackson Kahn Golf Course Design in 2009, after fourteen years of design experience with Tom Fazio’s design company.

The project is likely to take two years to complete once work begins.
