A new golf course will open on the African island of Zanzibar in 2015.

The nine-hole course will form part of The Sea Cliff Resort & Spa Zanzibar, located on the west coast of the island.

The course is being designed by Peter Matkovich, the architect behind a number of Africa’s leading courses, including the Ebotse Golf Course in Johannesburg, South Africa, the Heritage Golf Course in Mauritius, and the Omeya Golf Course in Windhoek, Namibia.

Once completed, the course will comprise a natural water feature, present elevation changes to players, and will run alongside the Indian Ocean.

The course will be open to the public, visitors, residents and guests of the hotel.
