Ransomes Jacobsen, the UK arm of Textron’s greenkeeping machinery division, has launched the latest generation of its Eclipse walking greens mower at the BTME show in Harrogate.

Jacobsen says the Eclipse2, available from March in three cutting widths from eighteen to 26 inches (46-66cm), will give operators greater control of mower settings to suit course conditions.

Mowing speed can be up to 6.1km/h, made feasible by the 15-blade reel available as an option on the two smaller models. Jacobsen claims the Eclipse2 has the highest productivity of any walking greens mower on the market.

On the hybrid version, with a Honda petrol engine powering a 48-volt generator, the engine has now been mounted through 180 degrees, which, the manufacturer says, gives a better balance to the machine and also making starting easier, presenting the pull cord directly in front of the operator.
