Signature designer Greg Norman paid his first visit to the site of the forthcoming Ayla golf course in Jordan, which his company is creating.

Ayla will be the country's first eighteen hole grass golf course, and is being developed near Aqaba on the Red Sea as part of a mixed project including a marina, hotels and real estate.

At

a press conference attended by the Jordanian Minister of Tourism, Nayef Al
-Fayez, Norman said: “The scale and quality of this project is phenomenal
and I believe that the entire setting and unique design, places it among
the best in the world and has the
potential to put Jordan on the world golf map in the future.”

After a site visit with Norman, Ayla MD Sahl Dudin confirmed the golf course will be completed
within the first phase of the project in early 2015. This phase
includes the Marina Village, which holds the main activities
and commercial centre, plus Hyatt Regency and boutique souk hotels.
An integral part of the development are the Ayla lagoons, which add 17km
 of new shoreline to Aqaba.
