The European Institute of Golf Course Architects (EIGCA) will hold its 2015 annual meeting in North Berwick, Scotland.

The event will take place between the 15-18 April 2015 and will be held at the Marine Hotel, overlooking the historic North Berwick links course.

To recognise the impact the East Lothian region and Scotland as a whole has had on the development of the game, the EIGCA has entitled the 2015 event ‘Inspired by Scotland’.

The event will feature a review of the early pioneers of the game, as well as an examination of green designs inspired by the famous Biarritz and Redan holes at North Berwick.

The weekend will also see the annual President’s Cup golf tournament take place, which will be played over two days at North Berwick and the nearby Gullane 2 course.

“Having previously visited St Andrews with the World Golf Forum we were keen to take our AGM to a different part of Scotland next year,” said Peter Fjällman, president of the EIGCA. “North Berwick is a wonderful town with a rich golfing legacy and it should prove to be an ideal location for our members and partners to come together and enjoy a programme of education, networking and golf.”
