Sir Nick Faldo has officially opened the Laguna Lăng Cô Golf Club, the new course designed by his firm on Vietnam’s Central Coast.

The event, held on the 16-18 March, government and tourism dignitaries attended a ceremony, officiated by Faldo to officially announce the course open.

Located in Vietnam’s Chan May region, Laguna Lăng Cô Golf Club is Faldo Design's 26th course and plays 6,961 yards, with a par of 71, and a golf tournament was hosted from the Saturday to the Monday to celebrate the course’s official opening.

The official opening signifies an important landmark for the area, as golf increases its presence in the Far East.

“The course is everything we thought it would be, and even better,” Sir Nick said during an inspection with lead architect Paul Jansen. “There are six different environments, which give players an experience like no other – rice paddy, woodland, water, beach, sand and what I call ‘blowout’ areas. There’s something in it for everyone.”
