Greg Norman has officially opened the new course at the Eastern Golf Club in Yering, Australia.

The club has relocated from its previous site in the Melbourne suburb of Doncaster, and Norman’s firm was hired to create a 27-hole course at the new site in the Yarra Valley.

The 27-hole course had a soft opening earlier this year, and a nine-hole par three course – also designed by Norman’s firm – is scheduled for completion in 2016.

“My responsibility when designing a golf course is to ensure it complements the stunning natural surrounds, and at Eastern, to showcase the native flora and fauna that Australia is renowned for,” said Norman. “Yarra Valley’s Eastern Golf Club is a truly special place where members can enjoy teeing off with kangaroos while taking in the spectacular views of the surrounding Christmas Hills and Dividing Ranges. This course delivers a natural golf experience and I am proud to be a part of it.”
