Plans have been unveiled for a new 18-hole links course in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Architect Tom McBroom unveiled the design for The Links at Brunello, which it is hoped will be open to the public by June 2015.

The championship course will be 7,100 yards long and is located on the Brunello Estate, a newly developed lifestyle community, 15 minutes drive from central Halifax.

“This course boasts stunning vistas and unexpected views, and is laid out on dramatic terrain that enables us to give golfers the ‘wow’ they’re looking for,” said McBroom. “It’s built on a grand scale, but is gorgeous and playable – designed for every class of player to enjoy and have fun on. I hope that the golf community in Halifax and beyond will enjoy playing this course as much as I’ve enjoyed designing it. It is a true golf course, offering a great golf experience within the context of a residential community.”

Rob Dexter, Brunello Estates CEO, began working with McBroom in 2008 after offering him the position of course design advisor on the project’s development team. “We are thrilled to have been able to partner with Tom McBroom. His calibre of talent as a course designer has allowed us to add ‘great golf experience’ to the many offerings in this unique community,” said Dexter.

The course will be comprised of blue grass greens and fairways, white sand bunkers and multiple teeing areas, and expected to cost in the region of US$14 million to develop.
