A new short game area, occupying more than four acres, is a key part of a recently completed masterplanning process at the Emerald Dunes club in Florida.

The facility has five greens grassed with Champion ultradwarf bermuda, with multiple target and chipping greens. The putting green extends to 9,500 sq ft. Members and their guests also have access to six greenside bunkers, and one additional pot bunker, providing the opportunity to work on scoring game shots from 100 yards in. The area also includes a bye hole, which can be played from 85-135 yards.

“With the new Short Game Area, we added more green space,” said architect Tom Fazio. “We've mimicked anything you will encounter on the course here. Practice is an integral part of the game and this is a spectacular amenity that allows golfers to tune-up their short game.”
